A microswitch is defined as a switch where the gap between the contact being not more than three millimetres in the open position. Microswitches are installed in the most diverse electric appliances and provide manifold application uses in controls, travel sensors and position switches. Microswitches: Different specifications for many areas of application

The B1 series, for example, offers a low level switching function and was developed for the requirements of MIL-PRF-8805/94. The switches of this series withstand up to 100,000 switching operations and in the B1-5 series even up to one million. This type of microswitch also has a lever to make it even easier to operate in certain control units. The microswitches of the B2 series are available in two sizes, so that you can purchase precisely the right switch for many application areas. The B2 series of microswitches is approved for military purposes according to the military specifications MIL-PRF-8805/4, MIL-PRF-8805/106 and MIL-PRF-8805/109. The B3 series is a microswitch that meets all the requirements of MIL-PRF-8805/76 in the size 0.200 inch. The switch is, however, also available in 0.156 inch and, as such is compatible with MIL-PRF-8805101. All products withstand up to one million switching operations and have a contact resistance less than 25mΩ. Both the B3 and also the B5 series have the specification double-break that ensures the circuit is interrupted at two points simultaneously. The construction of all microswitches by OTTO Controls is very robust and so they withstand high loads and many thousand to millions of switching operations.
