Die Widerstandswerte von einem Poti k\u00f6nnen \u00fcber einen beweglichen Schleifer stufenlos eingestellt werden. Auf diese Weise kann ein gew\u00fcnschter Widerstand pr\u00e4zise konfiguriert werden. Daf\u00fcr verwendet ein Potentiometer drei verschiedene Anschl\u00fcsse, einer ist zust\u00e4ndig f\u00fcr den Abgriff und die anderen beiden f\u00fcr den Widerstand.<\/p>\n<p>Insgesamt sind sie sehr kosteng\u00fcnstig in der Herstellung, weisen aber aufgrund der Kontaktierung mittels Schleifer zum Teil eine verk\u00fcrzte Lebensdauer auf. Potis dienen unter anderem in der Steuerung elektrischer Komponenten und werden f\u00fcr die Winkelerfassung verwendet. In diesem Kontext kommen ebenfalls sogenannte Hall-Potentiometer zum Einsatz. Dabei handelt es sich aber nicht um ein Poti im eigentlichen Sinne. Ein Hall-Potentiometer ist ein Sensor f\u00fcr die Positionsbestimmung. Dieser findet beispielsweise dann Anwendung, wenn ein Vorgang die R\u00fcckmeldung eines sich bewegenden Objektes erfordert, etwa als Eingangssignal f\u00fcr Steuerungs-, Servo- oder R\u00fcckmeldesysteme.
